EXPERIENCE Richard N. Asfar is an associate at Saxon Gilmore, and focuses his practice on business litigation, construction litigation, appeals, and music and intellectual property. His music and intellectual property experience includes assisting independent record labels in obtaining digital distribution for their music and representing clients in World Intellectual Property Organization domain name disputes. Mr. Asfar received his Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, from Baruch College of the City University of New York in 2002, and his Juris Doctor, with distinction, from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law in 2006. His honors and activities at Pacific McGeorge School of Law include full-time student extern to the Honorable Consuelo M. Callahan of the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, assistant comment editor for the Pacific McGeorge Global Business & Development Law Journal, president of the Student Bar Association, placement on the Dean’s Honor List from 2004-2006, membership in the Roger J. Traynor Honor Society, and recipient of the Outstanding Student Achievement Award at graduation. Mr. Asfar was admitted to the California Bar in 2006 and the Florida Bar in 2009. He is currently a member of the Hillsborough County Bar Association (Diversity Committee), the Pacific McGeorge School of Law Alumni Board, and the American Bar Association (Entertainment Section).
